On the iPad, you can now check your mail and play Crossy Road at the same time.
PocketGamer wrote about this today, October 22. According to the British edition, Hipster Whale has updated Crossy Road to work (more precisely, play) in split-screen mode (aka Split View). This is when a user can simultaneously use two applications at once. However, this feature fully works only on iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4.
Split View works like this
On older devices (but not older than iPad Air and iPad mini 2), the game can also be run in Slide Over mode.
It differs from Split View in that although the first application does not close, it “freezes” at the time of working with the second application.
Crossy Road was one of the first games to support similar functionality of iOS 9.
Note that from our point of view, the support of the Crossy Road game for such opportunities does not make sense, since we are talking about a dynamic project. It is not recommended to be distracted during this game, this usually leads to an instant Game Over. For this reason, reading Twitter and playing Crossy Road at the same time is actually unlikely to work.
But for games that belong to the strategic genre, where it is necessary to regularly harvest crops or gold from buildings – such a chip can be very useful. It will also definitely be used in projects like Heroes Charge.
