French publisher Gameloft reported on the success. The company said that to date, the total downloads of Asphalt series games have reached one billion. It took the racing franchise about 17 years to do this.

Gameloft shared his achievement on the official website of the series. There, the publisher added that in honor of what happened, he is launching a number of in—game events in two parts of Asphalt – Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt 9: Legends. The company also plans to hold a contest on social networks.

Separately, Gameloft announced the release of Asphalt 9: Legends on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. The company did not specify when exactly the release will take place. But it is already known that the title will remain free and will support cross-play and cross-save.

Years later, we transformed Asphalt into the most affordable racing series in the world. This is just the beginning for Asphalt, and with the upcoming launch of Asphalt 9: Legends on Xbox consoles, we are committed to providing everyone with an exciting racing game experience regardless of the platform.
