Among Us has entered the top 10 games with the largest number of simultaneous players in the history of Steam

Over the past 30 days, the average online project has amounted to 80 thousand players, showing an increase of two times compared to last month.

As GitHyp notes, several factors influenced the popularity of the game at once:

• players’ need for simple and fan-friendly online projects against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of major releases;huge interest from streamers who have significantly increased the popularity of Among Us after the summer sale;
• the low entry threshold for new users and the availability of the game (on Steam, its full cost is only $4.99).
• Among Us also took 11th place in the list of the most viewed games on Twitch (539 thousand viewers), surpassing PUBG, The Last of Us Part II and other hits in popularity.

For comparison, Fall Guys, another big online hit of recent months, was noticeably more popular on Twitch (700 thousand viewers). However, on Steam, its peak online was 170 thousand players — almost half as many as Among Us.

This is largely due to the difference in price. Despite the availability of Fall Guys by subscription in PS Plus, on PC it sells for $19.99.
