Almost 500 thousand people decided to watch how the American congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) plays Among Us for the first time in her life. This is one of the biggest broadcasts in the history of Twitch.
A couple of days ago Ocasio-Cortez wrote a viral tweet in which she invited people to play Among Us with her. After that, the number of subscribers on the newly created Twitch channel of the politician grew to 174 thousand.
The stream passed this morning and collected new records.
The broadcast lasted three and a half hours and at the peak it was watched by 439 thousand viewers. According to esports consultant Rod Breslau, this put the broadcast in third place in popularity among individual streamers. Ahead of Ocasio-Cortez are only the joint stream of Ninja and Drake (628 thousand viewers) and the return to the Shroud platform after the closure of Mixer (500 thousand viewers).
Together with Ocasio-Cortez, famous streamers played Among Us: Disguised Toast, Dr Lupo, Myth, mxmtoon, Jack Septic Eye, MoistCr1TiKaL, Pokimane and Ilhanmn. According to one of them, their joint game was watched by more than half a million people.
After the broadcast, Ocasio-Cortez wrote that she was delighted with what had happened and thanked the streamers who were on her team.
At the time of publication of the news, 561,055 people had already subscribed to the congresswoman’s channel.
