On June 19, Godfire: Rise of Prometheus from Vivid Games, the authors of one of the most successful paid games for iOS – Real Boxing, will appear in the Apple App Store.
The new game, as can be seen from the first videos, resembles Infinity Blade with a camera that is not rigidly attached to the “back” of the character, but is close in “behavior” to console games like Devil May Cry and God of War.
We see that the monster is attacking – we press the button responsible for blocking the blow. If we want to attack, we press another button, the hero automatically approaches and starts hacking. Only if in the creation of Chair, individual buttons were responsible for dodging, then in Godfire, instead of them, a touch stick.
Vivid Games decided not to experiment with a shareware monetization model, they will distribute the game as a paid application. The price of the application will be $6.99.
For reference: released in 2012, Real Boxing not only visited the paid Top 10 in 121 countries, but also marked in the box office Top 10 in 71 regions (though not in the States).
It will be possible to ask Vivid Games in detail about why they decided not to make the game free at White Nights 2014.
