Americans from Epic Games announced the release of a new “decimal” version of the Unreal Engine. Among the new features are grass rendering for open spaces and the ability to buy plugins in the Marketplace.
The peculiarity of the grass renderer – Landscape Grass Renderer – consists, among other things, in the dynamic visualization of intense vegetation relative to the player’s view.
As for the Marketplace, the first plugin available in it was one of the products of the company Allegorithmic, specializing in the sale of textures and working with them. By the way, the services and materials of this company have been available in the Unity Store for a long time.
Unreal Engine 4.8 also has a new Depth of Field, an excellent Foliage Editor (game worlds are now assembled no more difficult than maps in Warcraft 3 editors), the ability to interact with “wires” directly in Graph Editor in Blueprint, DLC support, a localization dashboard (!) and much, much more.

Epic mobile developers can be pleased with the correction and optimization of a number of render processes.
