Epic Games has made its engine free for educational institutions as part of its strategy to increase accessibility.
The engine can be installed and used on school/university computers. Personal copies are provided free of charge to students who study game development, art, architecture, design, and so on.
Educational institutions and students will also receive regular updates of the engine for free. However, if students want to make their educational project commercial, they still have to pay 5% of the income of the product.
