Fans have released a level editor for the original Prince of Persia game, released on the Apple II platform in 1989.

A program called leapop is distributed for free and runs on Windows and Linux.

The creator of Prince of Persia, Jordan Mechner, was pleased to learn about the release of leapop. He wrote about it on his Twitter.

Such devotion of fans of gaming classics is not so rare. For example, enthusiasts continue to produce modifications for Doom, 24 years after the release of the first part.
