Unity Technologies has released the final version of the game engine — Unity 2017.1, which opens the next version system after Unity 5.

In the presentation of Unity 2017.1, the developers focused on new tools for CGI cinema, introducing the functions Timeline, Cinemachine and Post-Processing Stack.

  • Timeline is a video editor for creating cutscenes, commercials, trailers and other video content on the power of Unity.
  • Cinemachine is a system of “cameras” that allows you to operate with shooting plans and direct a future CGI video.
  • Post-Processing Stack is designed for post-processing and applying various effects to the image: color filters, changing the depth of field, exposure settings, and so on.

Together with Unity 2017.1, developers are promoting the Unity Teams service to search and collaborate on projects on this game engine.

A full list of features and innovations can be found on the official blog of the project.
