When it comes to the competition between Unity and Unreal for the heart of an independent developer today, one of the central problems of the latter is the lack of its own asset store and, as a result, the lack of easily accessible content.
Epic most likely understands the situation and tries to change it gradually. At least, the joint initiative of the American technology company and the Mixamo studio looks like the first step in this direction.
So, according to the agreement between the two companies, Unreall 4 subscribers get free access to some of the characters and animations of Mixamo.
Recall that the most popular Mixamo tool at the moment is the Fuse character builder. The company also has a solution for an automated rig of three-dimensional anthropomorphic characters and a huge library of animations. Mixamo officially supports not only Unreal, but also Unity and Source.
Have you used the Mixamo toolkit? How do you think it is applicable within the mobile industry?
