The Game Maker’s Toolkit YouTube channel, hosted by British gaming journalist Mark Brown, publishes a series of videos about level design in The Legend of Zelda games.

The series is called Boss Keys. These are short – no more than 11 minutes – videos, each of which is dedicated to a separate game of the series about Zelda’s travels.

The video is part of Mark’s research on the history of game design of his favorite series.

At the moment, only five videos have been released on the following titles: A Link to the Past (1991), Link’s Awakening (1993), Ocarina of Time (1998), Majora’s Mask (2000) and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Seasons (2001).

The videos are accompanied by level diagrams.

The project is very interesting and can be useful for both game designers in general and game level designers.
