The Russian Federation is the leader of the esports market among European countries both in terms of money and the number of participants.
This was reported by Kommersant with reference to a joint study by SuperData Research and PayPal.
The monetary indicators of the domestic market are $35 million, and the number of people employed in it is 2 million. For comparison, the entire European market is estimated at $300 million and 23 million participants, and the global market should reach $895 million by the end of this year.
The second largest esports market in Europe is France, followed by Spain.
The majority of European market participants are men. Their share is 79%. The largest age groups are from 18 to 24 years old and from 25 to 34 years old. The share of both is 30%. But, by the way, players from 18 to 24 years old dominate in Russia. Their share among the total number of Russian players is 47%.
