Lara Croft Go became the mobile game of the year, Google launched a revolutionary advertising format, Temple Run 2 received a “frosty” expansion, and Rayman Adventures was released worldwide.
1. As part of the second award ceremony of The Game Awards, produced by journalist Geoff Keighley, Lara Croft Go from Square Enix received the award in the nomination “best mobile/portable game of the year”. Projects such as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Fallout Shelter competed with it. The game of the year, by the way, was named Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
2. Google has launched support for a new advertising format – Trial Run. The format is based on HTML5. Instead of a traditional fullscreen banner or video, it launches a 60-second demo of the advertised game.
3. Temple Run 2 has been updated globally. The main change is a total reskin: players are waiting for ice mazes instead of autumn ones. A good reason to return to the forgotten classics of mobile gaming.
4. The world release of Rayman Adventures took place on iOS and Android. Ubisoft seems to have released the most colorful runner/platformer on mobile platforms again. We haven’t had time to play yet, but we’re sure it’s time to run and download!
