The mobile HTML5 platform of the VKontakte social network is showing good growth. Over the past year, its MAU has grown by 100%. Now 6 million people play VK Direct Games every month.

VK High Score told about this at the online conference Elizaveta Zharkova, Head of Development of the VKontakte Games business direction. She also mentioned that top platform games earn $2-4 thousand a day from micropayments. It is unclear how much they can get from advertising, but CPM on mobile in VK games now reaches $2.

The dynamics of the desktop audience was not shown. However, Zharkova noted that this indicator is falling within the global trend. More important, according to her, is another thing: payments are growing. For example, over the past year, ARPU from web games has grown from 3.4 votes (21.76 rubles) to 8.5 votes (54.4 rubles).

As it is easy to calculate, in general, the gaming MAU of VKontakte is 15 million. The majority of users — 39% — play projects from both desktop and mobile. The share of those who prefer to launch projects exclusively on PC is now less than a quarter of the entire audience. Top teams earn up to $100,000 a month from all this coverage.

Also worth noting:

  • the most active playing audience on VK’s mobile is women from 26 to 45 years old, and men of the same age on the desktop;
  • leaders in installations on social network gaming platforms — puzzles;
  • the leaders in payments on the web are role—playing games, and in mobile — games from the category “Communication”;
  • the average session in mobile for puzzle games is 24 minutes, and for economic games – 20 minutes.

Now the monthly audience of the entire VKontakte social network is 73 million people, 53% of whom access it exclusively through mobile devices. 78.5% of the audience is over 25 years old. Moreover, the largest group — 18.5% — are women over 45 years old.
