This Wednesday, WN Connect will be held in Shenzhen. ByteDance, Tencent, Roblox, OPPO, Huawei, Azur Games, Round Ventures and many other companies operating in the Celestial market are expected to attend it.
The event will be held at Zhiyan FLAMES Pafang Bar (─ 炙焰flames牛扒餐吧). The official part of the program is scheduled from 18.30 to 21.30 Chinese Standard Time (GMT+8).
About the format
WN Connect — chamber events designed for 100-150 people and dedicated to the local industry. At them, the participants of the local game show in a calm atmosphere over a glass of wine share their experiences and discuss the news.
The closest analogue is the pre—party to the WN Conference. In other words, these are meetings of industry representatives in a restaurant or bar, where they can make new acquaintances and strengthen old ones at a convenient pace.
Sometimes WN Connect-s have a lecture component or closed discussions. This time the event will be opened by pre-recorded performances of foreign speakers.
You can get to the event in person only by invitation or by receiving an apruv. However, there is an online part with a paid ticket: the participants of the latter can watch lectures, communicate with each other and make appointments for those who participate offline.
WN Connect and cities
The upcoming WN Connect is the third in a year. It was held in Istanbul in May and in Tel Aviv in October. Both were dedicated specifically to the local community and industry.
In China, WN Connect is being held for the first time, although for the organizers — WN Media Group — this is the third offline event in the country and the first in Shenzhen. Previously, the company’s local events were held in Shanghai.
Shenzhen is the third largest city in China (its population is more than 17 million people). This is the main technological hub of the country, it is also called the Chinese Silicon Valley. It is here that the head office of Tencent is located, the Chinese offices of 505 Games, NExT Studios and Gameloft are based here.
