On July 25, one of the largest cities in China hosted an event for game developers and publishers — the WN x ChinaJoy International Summit Shanghai’24. It set an attendance record for smaller events by the WN media group, and its participants included representatives from companies such as Bandai Namco, BiLiBiLi, Bytedance, iDreamSky, miHoYo, Outfit7, Scopely, Tencent Games, and many others.
According to WN Media Group, which conducted the event, 357 companies related to the video game industry were represented at the event. 64% of the companies attending the summit are involved in game development and publishing. 34% of the companies are advertising providers.

Additionally, according to organizers, 424 people attended the summit. 46% of them were top managers and business owners, and another 43% were employees from sales and business development departments. It is worth noting that previous WN summits have never gathered such a number of participants.

The event's guests could share experiences and arrange partnerships. There was also a lecture program with presentations from representatives of Niko Partners, MY.GAMES, Esigame, Supersonic, and Tamatem Games.
WN x ChinaJoy International Summit Shanghai’24 was held within the framework of an official partnership between WN Media Group and China’s largest gaming event, ChinaJoy. This partnership was established a year earlier. In June of last year, it was announced that the collaboration between the Dubai and Chinese companies would be extended.
The Shanghai WN Summit was the second event held under this partnership. In July of the previous year, WN Connect Shanghai`23 was held as a satellite event to ChinaJoy, attended by 273 guests from 176 companies.
The significant growth in the number of participants indicates a high interest in the event from both the local and international video game development communities, said Yulia Lebedeva, COO and partner of WN Media Group.
As for ChinaJoy itself, it was held this year from July 26 to 28. The event attracted 367,000 attendees, and its expo, which covered 130,000 square meters, featured around 300 companies.
