Mobile Trends Forum (formerly VAS Forum) will not take place this year. i-Free explains the cancellation of the event by the adoption of an amendment to the law “On Communications”, which hit the market of additional mobile services hard.
“After the adoption of amendments to the law “On Communications”, which entered into force on May 1, 2014, the market for additional mobile services and mobile content decreased by more than 50%. Such a catastrophic downturn has had an extremely negative impact on the activities of many companies that previously sponsored the conference,” i-Free said in an official press release.
Representatives of the company noted that the cancellation in no way means the closure of the conference as such.
“We are sure that this is a temporary break: I think next year will bring positive changes, the situation in the industry will change for the better and the forum will definitely take place,” said Vasily Kuntsevich, CEO of i-Free.
The Mobile Trends Forum was supposed to take place at the end of November. Among the main topics were announced such as “Overview of the main mobile trends” and “Mobile game development“.
By the way, in October 2014, three game development conferences will be held on the territory of the former CCCP. KRI in Moscow, Live Mobile! in Vilnius and DevGAMM in Minsk.
The main office is located in St. Petersburg. At the moment, the company employs more than 650 people.
