Today, July 10, at 20:30, GameDevParty# 3 starts – a Russian game jam, held regularly since 2012.
The jam will last a week, until 20:00 on July 17. The theme of the games will be known immediately before the start, but in the meantime you can participate in the voting and choose the most interesting of the proposed topics.
Everyone can take part in the competition, regardless of the city and country – the “center” of the GDP is the website gamedevparty.ru , to which participants upload their games.
The closest relative in the west is the Ludumdare game, which has gained a lot of momentum over the 13 years of its existence. The difference between GameDevParty is that they speak Russian within its framework, and also give more freedom: a whole week of development, the opportunity to work in teams. Plus, its winners are awarded with buns by sponsors so that the participants have more fun.
