Organizers White Nights is launching another series of conferences. It’s called Talents In Games. Its target audience is gaming specialists who are directly involved in development.

The first such event will be held as part of the White Nights summer session. June 19-20. That’s just it will go in one stream.

June 19

On the first day, all reports at the event will be devoted to work on the visual component of games — art, graphics, UI and UX. Among the speakers:

Now Riana is the art director of the British division of King. She previously worked in similar positions at Rovio and Wooga. In particular, on games such as Futurama: Game of Drones and Bubble Island. Riana also worked for PopCap for several years, where she had a hand in Bejeweled and Plants Vs Zombies.

At the conference, she will read the report “272 million strangers: the art of understanding the audience”, which will be devoted to whether it is worth starting from the analysis of the audience of the future game when preparing art.

Ivan’s position at G5 Entertainment sounds like an art director in the direction of match3/puzzle games. In particular, he is responsible for the visual side of one of the main blockbusters of the company — Mahjong Journey.

At Talents In Games, he will read a report on the unconventional use of Spine. Ivan believes that this tool is suitable not only for character animation.

Co-founder and CEO of the outsourcing studio Owl Studio. Her studio today specializes in creating art for casual projects.

Vera’s report is called “The Artist in the Service: how to work according to the TOR and not lose creativity.” It is dedicated to how to make friends with a creative person and a performer of an order.

June 20

On the second day of the conference, all reports are devoted to working with code and programming. Among the speakers:

Louis has been working at Bungie for more than nine years. I started as an ordinary programmer responsible for low-level systems. Now he is on the board of the company, and also holds the post of Director of Services, Infrastructure and Security.

Louis’ lecture will be devoted to how the network architecture is built in Destiny. Note that Bungie has not performed in Russia before.

Senior programmer Temuri and head of the technical department Anatoly have been working at MyTona for a long time, among whose hits are Seekers Notes and Ravenhill.

The guys will share their refactoring experience at the conference and give some tips on when it is better to start this procedure.
