Last week, Ubisoft announced Quartz, a platform where gamers can trade “NFT cosmetics” for the company’s AAA titles. The first items have already appeared on the site, but users are not ready to pay a lot for them. The largest amount they agree to give is ꜩ14 ($65.56).

At the same time, they ask much more for NFT items. The price tag for rifles from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint ranges from ꜩ100 ($454) to ꜩ100 thousand ($454 thousand) Recall, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the only game connected to Quartz so far.

At the time of writing the news, 20 rifles are being sold in Quartz. In total, their number can reach up to two thousand (judging by the number of available slots on the site).

According to journalist Stephen Totilo from Axios, such a gap between how much they ask and how much they offer for “cosmetics” could have developed due to the fact that people do not understand the real cost of NFT. In addition, speculators are trying to cash in on the hype around non-interchangeable tokens.

Ubisoft announced the launch of Quartz on December 7, but its initiative was not liked by the audience. In particular, 96% of viewers negatively rated the video on YouTube with the announcement of the platform, so the company soon removed it from public access. There has been a lot of talk about NFT tokens since the beginning of spring, but recently the hype around this type of tokens has been especially active.

Peter Molyneux recently announced his blockchain project. Despite the fact that the game is scheduled for release in 2022, users have already managed to buy digital plots in it for £40 million ($ 53 million). Also yesterday it became known that NFT will appear in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
