The Playrix group of companies has become larger. Ukrainian Boolat Games joined it under a new name. Now it’s called Boolat Play.
The amount and terms of the transaction are not disclosed. Within the framework of Playrix, the Ukrainian team has already started working on a new frituplein product.
“A growing team with an updated name is ready to surprise players and give them vivid emotions. Together with the Playrix team, we will be able to set new product quality standards, develop and popularize the gaming industry,” commented Alexander Chigorin, CEO of Boolat Play.
Now 30 people from Kiev and Poltava work in Boolat Play. But in the near future it plans to expand.
The Ukrainian studio was founded in 2001. She was engaged in the development (including custom-made), porting and localization of games.
Her portfolio includes mostly casual products (time managers, hiddens, farms). However, the studio started with hardcore PC games: in 2003, it released “Deadly Dreams“, a role—playing game about magicians, and a little later – a race with shooting “Brakes“.
As part of Playrix, the studio is unlikely to engage in midcore and hardcore games. After all, her main expertise is mobile casual, within which she has released titles such as Harvest Land and Decurse.
By the way, the companies have already worked together before. In 2010, Boolat Games ported 4 Elements, a casual hit of Playrix, to PlayStation 3.
“Even then, strong partnerships were formed between the teams. Now, in 2021, I am sure that combining the unique experience of Boolat with our expertise and resources will allow us to create hits together that will be appreciated by millions of players,” said Dmitry Bukhman, co—founder of Playrix.
