In the list of the highest-grossing releases of February, games from Japanese developers and publishers appeared most frequently. Additionally, there were notable indie titles across various genres. In our traditional section, we'll cover their revenue, sales, and other metrics.

The games discussed in this article include:

  • Revenue, sales, and other metrics of the major February releases: Resident Evil Requiem, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Nioh 3, Reanimal, and others;
  • Data on indie hits and notable new arrivals: Mewgenics, YAPYAP, Menace, Super Battle Golf, the Steam release of Diablo II: Resurrected, the Yakuza 3 remake, Mario Tennis Fever, and others;
  • The most anticipated March releases by wishlist count: Crimson Desert, Mouse: P.I. for Hired, Replaced, Solasta II, Fate Trigger, Everwind, and others.

To assess sales, revenue, and other metrics, we traditionally rely not only on official data from developers and publishers but also on information from third-party sources. These include Steam charts and data from analytics firms like VG Insights and Gamalytic. All the figures mentioned in the article cover the period from the release date of a specific game to February 28, 2026.

In the past month, 1,503 new titles were released on Steam, marking a 12.5% increase compared to the same period in 2026. Of these, 279 are games with profile features (cards, badges, etc.) that have surpassed a certain minimum threshold for revenue and user count.

More than 60 releases earned over $100,000, and the gross revenue of 16 titles exceeded $1 million. Of all the February newcomers, 200 received more than 100 reviews, while only 36 projects surpassed the 1,000 reviews mark. Overall, these figures correlate with those of previous periods.

Next, we will examine the performance of the most successful newcomers and supplement this information with data from the console market in Europe and Japan.
