Which applications and games are preferred by users of a particular mobile program — now you can find out with the help of the analytical service DataMagic.

This is what the new toolkit looks like
The new functionality of the service is called Similarity Graph.

It is built on a database that the service pulls up from Google Play.

For reference: the latter forms a collection of Similar Apps for each application. In theory, it indicates the most similar programs relative to the selected one. In fact, the selection contains applications whose audiences overlap with it the most.

Suppose Guns of Boom has FRAG Pro Shooter and Battlelands Royale listed among the most “similar apps”. This does not mean that these games are like Guns of Boom. But it says that a significant audience of the Game Insight shooter also plays these projects.

In fact, the service, of course, works a little more complicated than it sounds
Based on the data open in Google Play, DataMagic uses its own algorithms to output a “click-by-click” selection of applications that most overlap in audience with the program selected by the user.

According to the idea of the authors of the service, the new functionality solves two tasks.

  • Firstly, it helps to better understand the audience of a particular game. This is necessary when testing new ideas, settings, and even formats.
  • Secondly, it allows you to choose the most suitable whitelist of applications or games to promote your product.
