The Singapore company Habby, known primarily as the developer of the mobile blockbuster Archero, has acquired a new box office hit. It’s called Survivor.io . This is a mobile clone of Vampire Survivors.

Survivor.ioWhy on Survivor.io is it worth paying attention?

The mobile game was released in July.

She earned her first $15 million with IAP in August, and the game reached the earnings level of $42 million per month in October (after 16 million installations were purchased in September).

This is more than Homescapes and Gardenscapes earned in the same month, approximately at the level of the monthly revenue of such blockbusters as Royal Match and Liange M.

According to AppMagic, the game entered the top 20 highest-grossing games in October, overtaking titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Garena FreeFire, among others.

Now the total box office of the game with IAP is slightly less than $ 100 million. For comparison, Archero, whose release took place in March 2019, earned $200 million for all time on micropayments.

Survivor.io – a free-to-play clone of the desktop indie game Vampire Survivors, which became a big hit on Steam in January of this year (despite the nondescript graphics, the project gathered up to 77 thousand people online at its peak).

Its gameplay is as follows: the hero is placed in an arena where there is a constant spawn of monsters. The character attacks automatically. The player is responsible only for management.

Crystals fall out of monsters.

The more crystals, the higher the level. Each new level gives you the opportunity to upgrade a particular skill.

There are a lot of skills. Their diversity provides ample opportunities for experimentation with the build of the character. Simply put, the combination of individual skills with each other turns out to be more advantageous when fighting monsters than a combination of others. One of the player’s tasks is to find the best ones.

Survivor.io It offers the same gameplay as Vampire Survivors, but in the traditional Habby “body kit” (with energy, pumping items in inventory, and so on).

Survivor.ioHow long will success last?

Vampire Survivors, whose success is viral, and also partly explained by the low price, fell very slowly on Steam online, given both the paid type of distribution, and the fact that the game was developed by a loner (against this background, it is not surprising that a huge number of clones of the game also appeared on the PC).

As for Survivor.io , then Habby began to reduce the cost of buying traffic back in September.

And, as can be seen from the graph with AppMagic just below, there is now no direct connection between the level of purchases and the cash register.

The monetization mechanics used by the Singapore publisher have also passed the test of time.

Archero has been steadily earning $2.5 million a month on micropayments for the last year and a half (at its peak it had more than $13 million).

In other words, if Survivor.io if she manages to reach a high plateau now, then with a high probability she will stay on it for a long time.
