Eurogamer spoke with the game director of Avowed. During the interview, Carrie Patel mentioned that Microsoft considers the game to be quite successful.

According to Patel, everyone at Microsoft she spoke with is pleased with the number of players in Avowed and the amount of hours played. However, she did not disclose any figures.
"Some gamers tried our game through Game Pass, while others purchased it on various platforms. I don't know which metric or number I could mention," added Patel.
In late February, Patel reported that the sales of Avowed delighted the game's developer, Obsidian Entertainment. Back then, she also did not share any numbers.
Avowed was released on February 18 for PC and Xbox Series consoles. According to estimates by Simon Carless, an analyst from GameDiscoverCo, by the end of February, the Steam version of the game had earned 13.1 million dollars — among the new releases that month, only Sid Meier's Civilization VII, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II grossed more on the platform. The peak online presence of Avowed on Steam reached 19,198 players.
