The Korean company managed to sell more than 5 million boxes with its tablet phone among its suppliers worldwide in two months.

Samsung Galaxy III became the best-selling smartphone in the third quarter of 2012, significantly surpassing the former market leader – iPhone 4S. 

Global smartphone shipments for the second quarter of this year increased by 47% and reached 158.3 million devices (with China’s share of 27%). Moreover, according to the analytical agency Canalys, Android has only strengthened its leadership in this market.

Angry Birds developers are going to release a new original project; tablet shipments will decrease this quarter; the release of the iPad 3 is overgrown with rumors.

Last year, manufacturers shipped 488 million smartphones and “only” 415 million personal computers.

According to the results of the fourth quarter of 2011, Apple is the world leader in smartphone shipments. As for the tablet market, Android-based products are actively gaining points here. Windows, surprisingly, is also not lagging behind.
