The first information about the potentially main competitor of the yet–to-be-released Microsoft Surface tablet, the “tablet” from the Korean giant Samsung, has appeared on the web. 

As part of the annual meeting of Microsoft sales partners, Steven Sinofsky, Director of Windows Development, announced the release date of Windows 8. According to him, “this is the biggest event for the company in at least the last 17 years.” The new version of the Windows 8 client operating system will go on retail sale on October 26.
