Only companies with headquarters in the European Economic Area and subject to taxation in Italy will be able to participate in the program.

“Video games are the fruit of creative genius. Therefore, it would be the right decision to support them, as in the case of cinema, if they are recognized as works of special cultural value,” Dario Franceschini, the Italian Minister of Culture, commented on the initiative.

“In Italy, the video game market is growing exponentially. There are numerous startups founded by people younger than 30 years old. They are able to develop high-quality products, attract large international productions and nurture young talents. These are real creative workshops that deserve support and can contribute to new ways of learning and learning.”

The deduction has not yet been approved in the EU, and it will not be possible to issue it until it is approved.

Recall that in 2020, the Italian gaming market earned a record €2.179 billion. There are about 160 development studios in the country, employing more than 1,600 people. 79% of employees are under 36 years of age.
