Facebook Gaming has a mobile version. Today, a new Facebook app has been released on Google Play, allowing you to play instant games and stream.
Before Facebook Gaming was presented only as a separate tab on Facebook. The new mobile version has the same functions: the Instant Games casual catalog, gaming communities, viewing and creating game broadcasts are available on it.
So far, Facebook Gaming is only available on Android. The iOS version of the app must be approved by Apple, The New York Times reports.
There are no ads in the current version of the app yet. The social network wants to expand the set of monetization mechanics after the release, but for now Facebook Gaming on mobile receives only percentages from donations to streamers.
Note that Facebook has been testing its software in Southeast Asia and Latin America for a year and a half. Initially, he was going to release the app in June 2020. But the COVID-19 pandemic forced the social network to accelerate the development of near-game projects.
We should add that Facebook Gaming has strengthened its position as a streaming platform in the last year. Now the platform is responsible for 8.5% of the global game broadcast market. The social network expects that the Android application will also focus primarily on broadcasts.
