The information that the new Nintendo console will function on the basis of Android OS has not been confirmed.
A few days ago, an article appeared in the Japanese edition of Nikkei that the upcoming Nintendo console under the working designation NX can run on Android. Nintendo has denied this information. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, her representative said that “the message was false.”
An indirect reason for the error could be the fact that Nintendo had previously confirmed that its New Nintendo 3DS would receive Unity support. The decision was made in order to attract the attention of developers creating games on this popular engine to the portable console.
Perhaps the Nikkei newspaper suggested that Nintendo would want to make an Android console for the same reasons – to simplify the process of creating games for third-party developers.
