Apple Store customers in China will now be able to make their payments using a UnionPay bank card.

For Chinese buyers, this is an important change, because now they will be able to link their Apple ID to a bank card and pay for purchases directly from the account.

Up to this point, customers were forced to make payments in the App Store through mobile operators or by making an advance payment.

“The ability to buy apps and make payments via UnionPay has been among the most popular requests from our customers in China,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet services and software. “China has already become our second largest market in terms of the number of downloaded apps, and now we offer an incredibly convenient way to buy interesting apps with one touch.”

APPLEChina UnionPay is the only banking network in China that has the right to issue electronic cards.

Despite the fact that the authorities opened the bank card market to other companies in October, it still controls almost the entire virtual payments market in the country.
