On the territory of the EU, it became possible to return money for paid iTunes or App Store content – and continue to use it.
The problem made itself felt after Apple updated the rules for the return of content in accordance with the laws on digital commerce in the EU. According to them, the buyer can return his money within 14 days from the date of purchase – before he starts using it, that is, before scrolling through a book, launching a game or an application. Now, according to the letter of the law, by purchasing an app / game/ book from Apple, you can get your money back within 14 days.
The purchase remains on the device at the same time.
In other words, the buyer gets the app for free – and forever. The only thing that happens as a result of the cancellation of the purchase is that the content is deleted from the account history, that is, it will no longer be possible to download it from another device.
Surely Apple will fix the bug in the near future. The only question is how. The company cannot prohibit people from using this loophole – because of the EU laws already mentioned. So, in order to change the functionality, you will need to update the operating system.
