BlueStacks company, known for the Android emulator of the same name for PC, continues to expand the capabilities of developers. She announced the launch of the “world’s first and only” platform for modding mobile games.

The platform is called Creator Studio & Creator Hub. It works locally as part of the BlueStacks X tool, and it also has a “cloud version”, which is located on a child service Now.gg .

According to BlueStacks, it is possible to create mods for all mobile games developed using Cocos, Unity and Unreal Engine for free on its platform. However, in fact, it still supports mods for only a few well-known games. Among them are Free Fire, State of Survival, Lords Mobile, Walking Dead, Looney Tunes World of Mayhem and Arknights.

It is assumed that in Creator Studio & Creator Hub you can make mods on three levels:

  • basic — basically, it’s working with color correction. For example, users can add a dark theme to games;
  • medium — modification of in-game effects, such as those that appear on the screen during shots or kills;
  • Advanced — changing 2D and 3D textures, including game items and character clothing.

Creator Studio & Creator Hub allows you not only to make mods, but also to share links to them. In addition, as Bluestacks states, mods can be monetized by turning them into NFT.

Founder and CEO of Bluestacks and Now.gg Rosen Sharma believes that in the future mobile mods will tightly enter the life of gamers.

“By 2025, most mobile gamers will be playing modified versions of games,” Sharma said. “Imagine that you are looking for a game and find mods created by your favorite gamers, streamers or fans. Global access to mobile game modding opens up limitless opportunities for gamers and developers, forever changing the way we create, distribute and experience mobile games.”

BlueStacks was founded in 2011. In July 2021, the company released a new version of its BlueStacks 5 local emulator. However, three months later, it introduced BlueStacks X, which runs on the basis of the so-called hybrid cloud.
