Swerve has published a recent study in which it revealed the difference between iOS and Google Play on key indicators: retention, engagement and monetization.
So, on average, 1 Day retention on iOS is 2% higher than on Google Play. But on Day 30, on the contrary, on Android, retention is, on average, 2% higher.
As for engagement:
- The average Android device user had 18% more sessions last March than the lucky owner of an iOS device;
- The total amount of time spent in March by the average user for applications also turned out to be higher for Android – by as much as 17%;
- But Apple’s average session length is higher – by 1%.
But as for monetization, then, of course, Apple dominates here:
- iOS devices generate 45% more revenue per user than Android gadgets;
- iOS devices generate 10% more revenue per paying user than Android gadgets;
- In general, 32% more users are monetized on iOS than on Android.
