Sony games on Steam have generated $1.5 billion, the Xbox 360 turned 20, and Resident Evil Requiem garnered 3 million wishlists—here are the main events in the gaming industry from the past weekend.

  • The sales of all Sony games published on Steam have exceeded 43 million copies, with total gross revenue reaching $1.5 billion. This conclusion was made by the analytical company Alinea Analytics. According to their estimates, the biggest Steam hit in Sony's portfolio is the shooter Helldivers 2, which is responsible for 12.7 million copies sold and $400 million in revenue. If games from third-party studios are excluded and only projects from PlayStation's internal teams are considered, the leading title becomes Horizon Zero Dawn, which, as Alinea Analytics notes, has sold 4.5 million copies and generated $170 million.
  • On November 22, the Xbox 360 celebrated its 20th birthday; it was released in 2005 and is still considered Microsoft's best-selling console. In honor of this anniversary, Circana analyst Mat Piscatella shared that in the US alone, 42.7 million units were sold. He also mentioned that the top-selling game on the Xbox 360 was Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which surpassed all other titles in both unit sales and revenue.
  • Capcom announced that Resident Evil Requiem has been added to wishlists over 3 million times. The company did not provide a breakdown of the wishlists by platform, but it's likely that a significant portion is on Steam. Currently, Resident Evil Requiem ranks fourth among the most anticipated games on Steam, trailing only Subnautica 2, Deadlock, and Light No Fire in wishlist numbers. Recall that "Requiem" is set to release on February 27, 2026, on PC and consoles.
