GamedevDou portal has published a list of five IT companies with the largest effective income tax rate* in Ukraine in 2022. The first place in the top was taken by Wargaming Kyiv.
*It is defined as the ratio of the actually calculated income tax to the profit before tax for the calendar year multiplied by 100%.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, last year Wargaming Kyiv transferred 23.6% of the profit to the treasury. How much is in hryvnia is not specified.
In GamedevDou’s comment, analyst Vyacheslav Cherkashin pointed out that such a large tax could mean three things:
▪️Wargaming Kyiv is a super—profitable company;
▪️the company has a low level of costs;
▪️Wargaming Kyiv is a monopolist.
Wargaming Kyiv became the only gaming company in the top 5. Besides him, SoftServe, GlobalLogic Ukraine, SoftServe Development and Ciklum entered the top five.
