French mobile publisher Voodoo has acquired a new asset. The company's portfolio now includes the social network for photo sharing BeReal.

The deal is valued at €500 million. Not all terms have been disclosed, but it is known that BeReal's CEO Alexis Barreyat will step down in the near future. He will be replaced by Aymeric Roffé, the CEO of another Voodoo-owned social network, Wizz.

Voodoo stated that the acquisition of BeReal will strengthen its position in the global market and allow for greater business diversification.

According to Voodoo, BeReal currently has over 40 million active users. The primary audience is located in the United States, Japan, and France.
