VK Play playground tried to make a portrait of a Russian gamer. She interviewed about two thousand people aged 15 to 54 years and learned a little about their preferences.

The main thing from the report:

Over the last month, the vast majority of survey participants played on smartphones (81%), but many also played on PC (66%);

▪️on all platforms (mobile, PC and console), the proportion of men is higher. For example, men make up 66% of the audience of PC games and 58% of the audience of mobile;

▪️approximately two thirds of Russian gamers are over 24 years old;

Overall, the most popular genres in Russia are puzzles (64%), shooters (59%) and sports simulators (55%);

When choosing a game, Russian mobile gamers primarily look at the genre, whether it is possible to play without the Internet and whether the title is free. At the same time, PC gamers are more interested in feedback from opinion leaders and their own feelings about the gameplay;

▪️58% of console owners have made purchases in games over the past month. They were interested in both game currency (32%) and various items (31%), characters (29%) and amplifiers (27%).
