Unity has identified content creation using AI as one of the key areas of its development strategy for 2026.
This announcement was made by Unity's CEO and President Matthew Bromberg during a teleconference with investors following the fourth quarter results.
The company is currently working on an updated version of the Unity AI assistant embedded in the editor, with the beta version set to be unveiled at the upcoming GDC 2026.
“With its help, developers will be able to create fully-fledged casual games through prompts using natural language. This will simplify the transition from prototype to finished product,” stated Bromberg (this quote was first highlighted by the publication Game Developer).
How the updated Unity AI will function is still unclear. Bromberg is confident that the tool will enhance efficiency, lower entry barriers, and democratize development for those who are not well-versed in programming. The company is also preparing to introduce improved tools for managing in-game purchases.
In conclusion, Bromberg made another prediction—the proliferation of AI tools will attract "tens of millions" of new developers to the industry.
It's worth noting that Unity is still operating at a loss. In 2025, the company lost over 400 million dollars, with its most successful branch remaining its monetization tools. This is partly due to the Unity Vector ad platform based on AI.
