Tilting Point CEO Kevin Segalla stated that the layoffs are a necessary step due to the difficult situation in the gaming industry. Tilting Point did everything possible to maintain its organizational structure for as long as possible, but then reached a point where delaying new mass cuts became impossible.

The company made a number of other “difficult decisions” to keep the business in a healthy state, but Segalla did not specify what these were.

In early 2023, Tilting Point had already laid off a significant portion of its employees. At that time, it let go of 60 workers or 14% of its staff.
