Spanish studio Stage Clear Studios has become another victim of the restructuring of the Thunderful Group. The management of the holding announced the closure of the studio as part of the financial report.

The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom

The Thunderful Group did not provide details about the closure of Stage Clear Studios. Judging by the studio's LinkedIn, in mid-May it employed a little more than 20 people, over the past six months its staff has decreased by 41%.

Stage Clear Studios was founded in 2012. Nine years later, the Thunderful Group bought it for 2.5 million euros. The studio has created games such as The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom and Shiny The Firefly, it also helped with the development of games in the FIFA and Dead Space series.

Recall that during the spring, the Thunderful Group got rid of at least two more companies. She negotiated the sale of Headup Games and Nordic Game Supply. All this happened against the background of the financial problems of the holding. According to the results of the first quarter of 2024, the revenue of the Thunderful Group fell by 28% to 391.7 million Swedish kronor ($36.7 million), and operating losses amounted to 184.4 million Swedish kronor ($17.3 million).
