The Swedish holding company Thunderful Group has agreed to purchase the Jumpship studio. He publicly announced the deal on the day of the release of Somerville, the company’s debut game.
The deal is expected to close today. According to its terms, 100% of Jumpship shares will go to the Thunderful Group, and co-founder and CEO of the studio Dino Patti will also become a strategic adviser at Thunderful Games. Jumpship will retain its creative independence.
Thunderful Group announced that it will immediately pay the studio £6 million ($7.1 million). If Jumpship reaches certain financial indicators, it will be able to count on an additional £24 million ($28.4 million).
