As discovered by journalist Gauthier Andres from Origami, the studio Build a Rocket Boy is about to announce the insolvency of its office in the French city of Montpellier. This will be followed either by its restructuring to cut costs or its complete liquidation. The management of Build a Rocket Boy has not yet fully decided on the outcome, but according to Andres, liquidation seems the most likely option.
The possible closure of the office in Montpellier is yet another event in a series of troubles plaguing Build a Rocket Boy in the wake of MindsEye's failure. Since the game's release in June 2025, the studio has already conducted mass layoffs twice, the most recent of which occurred just recently — in early March.
Build a Rocket Boy has not publicly disclosed any plans to shut down its French office.
