Russian gamers have increasingly started purchasing retro games on Avito, reports the newspaper Kommersant, citing data from the marketplace. Comparing the first half of 2022 with January to June 2024, sales of old console games doubled, and sales of old PC games grew sixfold.

The total number of retro games and the total amount spent on them by Avito users over six months is not disclosed.

In the first half of 2024, the average price for console retro games on the platform was 1,400 rubles. Over two years, it increased by 3%. However, at the start of last year, it was slightly higher at 1,500 rubles.

Conversely, retro games for PC have become cheaper over two years. In the first half of 2024, their average price on Avito was 800 rubles—a decrease of 26% compared to 2022.

Earlier, the retail network M.Video-Eldorado reported that in the first six months of 2024, Russians purchased 414,000 retro consoles.
