The Turkish government has announced an expansion of its support program for mobile game developers. Under this program, the authorities will reimburse local studios for part of the expenses incurred in operational and marketing needs.

What compensations Turkish developers can now claim:

  • One of the most notable points of the support program is the reimbursement of up to 50% for user acquisition (UA) costs and overall game promotion expenses. Annually, they can request refunds for up to 10 titles, with a total cap of 50 million lira ($1.1 million);
  • The authorities are willing to cover up to 50% of the fees paid to the App Store and Google Play. The limit is 20 million lira ($436,000) per year;
  • Developers can also recover half of the costs for cloud services and hosting, including infrastructure from Amazon Web Services and Azure, and analytics services — but not more than 5 million lira ($109,000) and 2.5 million lira ($54,500) annually, respectively;
  • A separate support category covers personnel expenses. Studios can now refund up to 90,000 lira ($1,960) per month for a Turkish employee and up to 250,000 lira ($5,450) for a foreign employee. As with other cases, up to half of the expenses will be compensated;
  • Part of the expenses for renting overseas offices will also be reimbursed — with compensation up to 6 million lira ($131,000) annually.

As believes Anurag Rai, CEO of the monetization platform UndrAds, the Turkish government hopes to retain mobile studios in the country through these measures. In recent years, large foreign companies have increasingly acquired them, which is not particularly pleasing to officials. For example, earlier in 2026, Scopely acquired Loom Games, and even before that, Zynga purchased Peak Games.

It is worth noting that formally, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the decree supporting mobile developers back at the end of February, but it has only started gaining active discussion online now.

Additionally, remember that in less than a month — on June 18-19 — the WN Istanbul’26 event will take place in Istanbul. This will be the tenth Turkish business event for game developers and publishers from WN Media Group.
