Eidos-Montréal isn't the only game studio that announced layoffs at the end of March. Polyarc also decided to "downsize."
Moss: Book II
Polyarc stated on LinkedIn that it is compelled to part with a "significant" number of employees. This decision was necessary because the studio was unable to secure funding for their next game development — a major project that Polyarc couldn't sustain without financial support. Ultimately, the studio also canceled the game.
In the coming days, Polyarc plans to release a list of the names of the laid-off developers and share their contact information.
Polyarc is an American studio founded in 2015 by Bungie veterans. It specializes in VR games and is best known for the Moss platformer series featuring a mouse protagonist. Additionally, in November last year, Polyarc released a VR-MOBA titled Glassbreakers, but it barely garnered attention on Steam and received "mixed" reviews.
