Dark Math Games is one of the game studios founded by former employees of ZA/UM. The studio has announced securing significant investment. While the exact amount remains undisclosed, it's reported to be a seven-figure sum.

XXX Nightshift

The funds for Dark Math Games were provided by the Estonian investment firm MM Grupp, which had previously invested in ZA/UM.

Dark Math Games plans to use the acquired funds for the development of a detective RPG set in a science fiction universe called XXX Nightshift. The studio’s head, Kaur Kender, stated that thanks to these investments, his team will be able to realize their long-term vision and achieve stability.

Currently, besides Dark Math Games, there are three other studios on the gaming market composed of ZA/UM veterans.

  • Red Info — the studio of Disco Elysium's world creator Robert Kurvitz and the game's art director, Aleksander Rostov;
  • Summer Eternal — an 'art collective' that includes former Disco Elysium writers Argo Tuulik and Olga Moskvina, along with several other game developers. Summer Eternal aims to create a 'cultural mega-project' in the RPG genre;
  • Longdue Games — in addition to ZA/UM veterans, this studio employs former staff from Bungie, Rockstar Games, and Brave At Night. The team is working on a story-driven 'psychogeographic RPG'.
