Not only at Bungie was there an announcement of layoffs yesterday, June 26. A similar statement was also made by the VR studio Combat Waffle Studios.

Ghosts of Tabor

The relevant news was shared on LinkedIn by the founder and CEO of Combat Waffle Studios, Scott Albright. He wrote that his studio was forced to say goodbye to “a number” of employees. How many people were affected was not specified by Albright.

The reason for the layoffs was the cancellation of a project that Combat Waffle Studios was working on with an unnamed major partner. Albright also noted that the current and far from optimal state of the VR industry impacted the team. Nevertheless, the top manager remains confident in the bright future of VR.

Combat Waffle Studios is an American studio founded in 2022. To date, it has managed to release three games — Ghosts of Tabor, Silent North, and Grim.
