Torn Banner Studios has announced a restructuring. As part of this, the studio laid off an unspecified number of employees.

CEO Steve Piggott issued a statement reminding that Torn Banner Studios is an independent and self-funded team. Due to this nature, the top manager explained, the studio has faced numerous challenges. However, he did not specify what exactly prompted the restructuring and layoffs.

Piggott assured that laid-off employees will receive severance pay and will be able to keep the computers they were provided with for work. In addition, Torn Banner Studios will make efforts to assist them in finding new employment.

It's notable that the layoffs at Torn Banner Studios began shortly after the release of the cooperative horror game No More Room in Hell 2: the game launched in early access on PC on October 22, 2024. On Steam, the title received "mixed" reviews, with only 45% of the reviews being positive.

According to Piggott, despite the layoffs, Torn Banner Studios will continue to focus on improving No More Room in Hell 2 and preparing the game for its full release. He added that the situation at the studio will not impact Chivalry 2, as developers completed content support for the title last summer.
