Colorado Governor Jared Schutz-Polis has signed a bill granting a tax deduction to creative companies. Both film studios and game developers will be able to count on it.
According to the terms of the program, developers will be reimbursed 20% of the annual cost of producing games. It is noteworthy that studios will be able to apply for a tax deduction not only from Colorado, but also from other American states: if half of their employees work in Colorado, and the costs do not exceed $ 250 thousand.
The program budget for 2024 is $5 million.
Now in Colorado there are offices of such gaming companies as Deck Nine Games, Leviathan Games, Serenity Forge and Dire Wolf Digital.
